GodMode is a term devised by the Microsoft development team, which provides a single place to access all Windows settings without needing to browse options and folders in the Control Panel.

To use God Mode, follow the following steps:

1. Create a new folder

2. Rename the folder to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} (the text “GodMode” can be changed to what ever you like, but the text following the period and code number are essential).

3.  The folder icon will change. Double click the icon to open the GodMode window.

This GodMode window shows nearly 50 sections with quick links to configuration options. If you were going to be technical, you wouldn’t be calling this GodMode, more of an ALL Tasks list as all these tasks are available elsewhere. You might find it easier having them all in the same place, rather than searching for the correct option through numerous screens and panels.

This trick has been known to crash 64-bit versions of Vista. If you do get crashes as a result, you will need to boot in safe mode or to the command line to delete the folder.
